Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Well he had a wonderful Christmas. We were fortunate to have our family to spend it with. We did miss Doug and Janet but I know they had a great time with Janet's family. Aspen was pleased with Santa's gifts. Here are a few pictures.

Aspen's fall photos.

Fall photos!

My good friend Jenny has taken up photography and has become good enough to start a little side business doing it. Earlier in the fall she took some photos of Aspen that turned out really good. I wanted to share 1) because they are so cute and 2) to help get Jenny's name out. Here is a link to her blog http://memoriesbymejenny.blogspot.com/. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Aspen's final swim class.

Today was Aspen's last class for this first round of lessons. She has done great. She went from barely wanting to put her face in the water to jumping off the side of the pool unassisted, and now can actually swim on her own. She gets a little nervous when you aren't close by, but I think this summer she will be swimming like a fish. She is eager to start the next class which should start late winter. Hope you enjoy the video.

Our New Home!

Finally! Pictures of the new house. Well, of the outside anyway. Thad was sick last night with food poisoning or a stomach virus so the house is a wreck now. I will take inside pics this weekend hopefully after we decorate.
Also, I have posted some pictures of Aspen helping us preparing food for our party we had. She is quite the little chef!

Halloween and more!

For Halloween we took Aspen to Amelia's for some trick or treat fun. Aspen, Amelia, Vienna, and a few other neighborhood kids all went trick or treating together. It was a lot of fun. Natalie and Pablo organized a great potluck dinner. Thank you Valarezo family! We have such great friends.

Aspen has also begun taking swimming lessons. Her friend Ava is taking them with us. They have so much fun. Aspen is really learning a lot and has gotten really brave. I am so proud of her. Aready she is a much better swimmer than I am.

This slide show contains more birthday photos, pictures at a Harvest Fest with her Ma Ma and Pa Pa, Halloween, and swim lessons.

Aspen's 4th Birthday Party

Aspen's 4th Birthday Party!

This year with all the chaos of moving, we decided it would be fun to have a birthday party with one of Aspen's dear friends, Ava. Ava's parents, Jaime and Phillip were gracious enough to host a costume party at their place. It was a lot of fun and there were a lot of people. Thad and Phillip set up a corndog station and were very busy filling everyones corndog requests. We all dressed up as short order cooks. Aspen was a witch and Ava was a princess. Thanks to everyone who helped out. Whether it was purchasing and delivering hay, picking up balloons, taking pictures, or babysitting eveyones help was greatly appreciated and thanks again to the Norton family for hosting it. They always do great partys! :) Here are some pictures of the day.

Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday we drove up to Greenbrier to visit our favorite Pumpkin Patch. Amelia and Vienna went with us. The girls did have a good time but due to neither big girl getting a nap, there were 2 huge melt downs on the way home. A short nap made everything better. I was lucky to get a few great shots before the tears started.

Fall Fun!

Well October has been a busy month, just happens to be my favorite month too. Last week we attended the state fair. Aspen and Thad had a great time riding the rides together. I loved seeing how much fun they had and took lots of pics. Aspen's good friend Amelia had a birthday party yesterday, the kids had a blast. We then went to the Norton's to test out corn dog making and watch the Razorback's play. Today Mom and Dad drove up to Little Rock to visit us, I mean Aspen. ;) We went to a local Harvest Fest and enjoyed a beautiful day. I think I have had all the corn dogs, funnel cakes, and other fried goodies any one person should have for the rest of the year.

Last week we moved into temporary housing so that we no longer have to commute. It has been wonderful. We are crossing our fingers that all goes well with the final steps of our loan so that we can finally have our own space again. We are so thankful for our family and friends who have allowed us to pile in and store some of our personal items.
Stay tuned to other exceiting events:
-a visit to our favorite pumpkin patch
-closing of our home
-Aspen and Ava's birthday party
and ....... Halloween

We have a house!

YEAH! We finally have a contract on a home and are scheduled to close later this month. Hopefully everything will run smoothly and we will have no more hiccups.

We have been good, I haven't been taking many pictures of Aspen but will hopefully have some great Pumpkin patch photos soon. It has been tough living between our parents homes but we are thankful that we have such great families and that they have been willing to take us in.

We did attend the Grant County fair while at my parents house. Our friends Natalie, Amelia, and Vienna met us there. The big girls had fun riding the rides together.
Tomorrow we plan to visit a local Arts and Crafts fair where there are suppose to be pony rides. Aspen is so excieted.

Meeting Uncle David

This past weekend Thad, Aspen, and I went to Hot Springs to visit Thad's Uncle David from Houston. This was the first time David and Aspen met and they hit if off pretty good. It was a nice relaxing weekend that was much needed. This week, we are busy packing. We close on our house Monday and have to be out Wednesday the 27th. We found a great house we loved, but another offer came in the same time as ours and theirs was better. Our second pick sold over the weekend so we are back to the drawing board. Looks like we are going to have to rent for a while. I really didn't think finding a home would be so difficult, but it is. We are anxious to get settled somewhere so I can find a mother's day out for Aspen and sign her up for an activity. She says she wants to take dance.

I will try to do better at keeping everyone updated, I had hoped my post would include a picture of our new home. That will hopefully be soon to come.
